子供の頃から身の回りにイギリス国旗があり、その頃からずっとこのデザインや、色、微妙なラインのバランスなどが大好きです。
My favourite country. I have seen the UK flag around me since I was a child. Since then, I have always felt that it had a wonderful balance of colours and design.

イギリスには多くのスタジアムが存在しますが、このスタジアムは建築デザインも含めて存在感を放っています。この巨大なアーチを正面から眺めてみたい。
There are many stadiums in the UK, but this one has a strong presence, including its architectural design. I would like to see this huge arch from the front.

ノリッジシティのロゴはとてもシンプルに見えて、実はとても複雑。
カナリアの他にも左上には、建物と動物を象徴するシンボルがあり、やや描くのが難しい部分でした。
The Norwich City logo looks very simple, but is actually very difficult to draw.
Apart from the canary, there's a symbol in the top left-hand corner representing the building and the animals, and this is where it was difficult.

私は、鳥が大好きで鳴き声や、飛ぶ姿、山に行けばどんな鳥が生息しているのかを結構調べています。野生のカナリアに出会いたいと願いながら、描きました。
ノリッジシティクラブのカラー（カナリアイエローとグリーン）は素敵な色合い！
I love birds and do quite a bit of research on their calls, how they fly and what kind of birds inhabit the mountains if I visit them. I painted this picture in the hope of meeting a canary in the wild.The Norwich City Club colours (canary yellow and green) are lovely shades!

このユニフォームのV字とスタンドカラーは相性抜群ですし、ある意味このデザインは現代でも通用するのではないかと、感じながら描きました。とても可愛い。
I drew this combination of Kits, feeling that in a way it could work as a contemporary design. The V-shaped design is very pretty and goes well with the stand collar.

ダウントンアビーだけでなく、この時代の他の映画や、洋服の歴史資料などを調べながら描きました。昔から、人々はウールを好んでいたことを知り、私にとってとても嬉しかった。
I drew on Downton Abbey as well as other films from this period and historical sources on clothing. It was pleasure for me to know that people have always preferred wool.

このシリーズの文章を書くことにした理由の一つが、この "昔の時代のサポーターと、現代フットボールの様式を組み合わせた内容" を表現することです。
One of the reasons for deciding to write this series of texts is to express "the content, which combines supporters from a bygone era with the style of modern football."

この時代のユニフォームは、見た感じ本当に野球のユニフォームみたいで、とても斬新なデザインだな、と感じながら描きました。古着として普段着てもきっと可愛い。
I painted the Kits of this era, feeling that they really looked like baseball Kits, which is a very innovative design. They are cute to wear on a daily basis as vintage clothing.

スパイスガールズのそれぞれの個性は、とても魅力的。現代にはない彼女たちの表現方法は、学べる部分が多く有ると感じました。
Each of the Spice Girls has a unique and fascinating personality. I felt that there is a lot we can learn from their way of expression, which is not available in the modern world.

1997年というのが、イギリス出身のレディオヘッドを含むロックブームが過ぎた頃。まだその名残もあって、ややパンクロックなスタイルも残しつつ、個性あふれるサポーターが居たのでは、という想像をしながら描いた作品。
The year 1997 was when the rock boom, including Radiohead from the UK, had passed. There were still remnants of this style, and the film imagines that there were supporters who were full of personality, while still retaining a somewhat punk rock style.

少しずつ近代的なデザインになってきているし、やはりスポンサーのロゴは、デザインの一部だと再認識。
The design is gradually becoming more modern and I was reminded that the sponsor's logo is part of the design.

ケミカルジーンズの風合いを、水彩絵の具で出すことが結構難しく、乾いた筆で白色を後から擦るようにして表現しました。
The texture of the chemical jeans was quite difficult to achieve with watercolours, and was expressed by rubbing the white colour afterwards with a dry brush.

髪型をとにかく目立たせたかったので、あえて顔の表情は描きませんでした。このヘアスタイル素敵だなぁと感じています。
I wanted the hair to stand out anyway, so I didn't dare draw facial expressions. I feel this hairstyle is wonderful.
